4. A thousand and one nights

I'm coming back in the passenger seat, but this time, my crazy lover is at my side in his gleaming Porsche Cayman.

Crazy for me.

It didn't take much insistence to convince me to come back to Paris. I couldn't bear being separated from him for one more day, not after he confessed what he felt for me in such a teary declaration. After gathering my things, I kissed Marion quickly, but I didn't see Tristan.

He'll understand, I hope.

The Porsche speeds along, the landscape races by me, I can't appreciate its beauty nor its details. While the vibrante scene of his confessions plays over and over in my head, his hand rests on my knee and lasciviously climbs up my thigh. I push it back several times, to challenge him, to play with him, until Gabriel loses patience and growls at me, as if he was talking to an undisciplined little girl.

"Amandine, you're starting again."

"Starting what?"

"To get away from me. You know I don't like that."

"You don't like it when someone resists you, Mr. Diamonds?"

"No, and that's why I decided to kidnap you for a few days, Ms. Baumann. You won't be able to escape me, not where I'm taking you."

His voice is authoritarian and I assume he expects to have the last world.

You haven't completely tamed me, Gabriel, if I have something to say, I'm going to say it.

"I have a job, I can't drop everything for you."

"My desires are orders, Amande, you know that."

"Pardon?"

It's heating up in here.

"There's no point in rebelling, I've already notified your boss. Remember that he works for me and that he won't refuse me anything."

"It's the last week of my internship, I'm not going to be able to finish up my files during class!"

"I took care of the problem. I recommended a new intern to Eric Chopard to replace you. He's extremely competent, maybe not as much as you, bitter Amande, but he'll take care of it."

"You really think you can control every detail of my life?"

"Yes, you're at my service. And believe me, you won't regret it."

"I have rights, Gabriel. And I think we could call this exploitation."

"You and your big words."

He bursts out laughing and looks at me, mockingly. My hand is itching.

"Stop treating me like a child! Where are you taking me, may I ask?"

"We're going to Dubai, Princess Scheherazade. Just you and me."

My bad mood gives way to excitement. I don't want to slap him anymore, instead I want to jump into his arms.

And yet...a little correction would do him some good.

Monday morning, Diamonds picks me up at dawn to take me to Charles-de-Gaulle airport. During the trip, he explains that he's going to Dubai to sign the contract for a new partnership, as well as to have a little fun with me.

"Even at six in the morning, you're absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to have to hold myself back from jumping on you during the flight."

"That sounds nice, I like being desired."

"Desiring you is my favourite activity, pretty Amande.
